Creativity at Home: How to Keep Yourself Creatively Stimulated Safely

Staying still at home is boring. Here's how to keep yourself entertained.

COVID-19 is a bummer, I know. Self-quarantining yourself and being apart from your creative works is also a bummer as well. It's a global pandemic, ladies and gentlemen, and the disease not only takes away our lives, but also our freedom to think creatively.

It's been Day 8 at my end, stuck in my house with the virus still proliferating around us like a Burger King ad. I've got a list of things that I did for the past week or so to keep myself creatively stimulated, and I've got time to share it with you lot:

Stay creative even at home

You may be self-quarantining yourself now, but don't keep your brain locked down as well. Check your latest competition, and understand how-why-whats of what your competitors are doing. If you think of yourself as a strong creative, why don't you check the NYX Awards website and find out more about them?

Eating healthy

Eating is overrated to some, I know. But the crazy thing about eating healthily is that not only does it help you to literally live longer, but also to help you clear your mind off. Where the virus attacks you with a sneeze, you should be protecting yourself by maintaining a suitable diet for your body. Oh, and do you know that beautiful packaging will definitely inspire you to create one? Check this packaging out right down here:

Play your video games

Video gaming is no longer just a niche. You can play it from your house to even the recesses of your toilet, and with the right game, you may even find yourself be inspired by the plot, the music and even the overall design of the game itself! If you haven't tried this method, you should try it today.

Planning your next trip

The next time you go overseas, the world will be different. As creative professionals, your next trip overseas will definitely churn fresh ideas into your head. If you cannot believe me, take an imaginary trip to the Dominican Republic, drink a bottle of Corona (heh), and relax your mind and soul!

Staying at home is a state of mind, and being creative at home is easy, as long as you have the Internet. If you have any stay-at-home thoughts to share with us, do email me at andy@iaaawards.org, and let's exchange ways to work at home!
