Pimp My Carroça Provides Safe Working Conditions & More For Catadores in Brazil

Pimp My Carroça is a fresh take on how we can save the world by recycling and helping the catadores (waste collectors) in Brazil at the same time.

Recycling may still feel like a foreign topic for some, but it is in many ways one of the most vital things for us to do everyday. Not only can it help us to save the world, we can also get rid of unwanted items at the same time.

To better resolve this ongoing issue, Pimp My Carroça was founded, where its great work earned them a Grand Winner in the NYX Marcom Awards

Pimp My Carroça is a Brazil-based charitable organisation founded by graffiti artist, Mundano. It aims to improve the working conditions, roadside visibility, and more for the catadores (waste collectors) all around town.

The initiative has also spawned Cataki, an app where you can call catadores to your location to collect your recyclable trash, providing a safe way for them to earn money and rid the streets of rubbish at the same time.

Being responsible for 90% of all recycling in Brazil, catadores are one of the pillars in society in hygiene. The implementation of this app further exemplifies their importance among the Brazilian community.

Pimp My Carroça is an all-round success, and we cannot wait to see how this app develops into a must-download software for years to come!
