I am a Chicago-based videographer, editor, and producer, with a passion for innovative and compelling storytelling through the medium of video.
I work with small businesses and corporate clients to create marketing messaging. This messaging can take the form of product advertisements and testimonials, but also scales to storytelling and documentary work.
The video follows the General Electric Accelerated Leadership Program (XLP) as they travel to Puerto Rico to participate in the on-going recovery efforts. The team spent several days in Puerto Rico working on projects such as rebuilding homes, cleaning hospitals, reforestation, and helping organizations develop disaster relief plans.
The biggest challenge with the project was that there was only one crew member who had to serve as producer, videographer, and during post-production, editor. During production, equipment had to be slimmed down to what could only fit in a back pack, and all interviews were conducted using natural or available lighting with a small top-mount LED light for fill.
It’s great to receive recognition for work that you’re passionate about. Winning accolades like the Muse Creative Award inspires me to deliver great results for challenging projects. Winning these sorts of awards also helps in securing new clients.
Learn everything you can. There are tons of great resources out there, some of them are free, and absorbing all of that knowledge and putting it to practice is the only way to better your craft.
My key to success is to drink as much coffee as possible. Other than that, hard work really does pay off. When you take those few extra seconds or minutes to make sure that you’re capturing something exactly how you want it, or double-checking aspects of your production, you’re going to come away with great results.
In Chow Creative, we believe that video and storytelling is the best way to tell your story or sell your brand. Telling a story has always been the most effective way of engagement and getting your message across.
