Interview with Danting Li - Building Brands Through Research & Innovation

Danting Li

As Co-Founder of SparksGlo, Danting Li leads projects that extend beyond visual design to include user experience, digital strategy, and performance optimisation. She believes successful design is built on research, collaboration, and a clear understanding of both audience and business objectives.

I am a Senior Graphic Designer and Co-Founder at SparksGlo, where I lead the full creative direction for branding, digital platforms, and campaign systems. I oversee end-to-end design execution across web, CMS, and e-commerce platforms, from concept development and visual strategy to final delivery.

At SparksGlo, I have led the full design process for logos, brand identities, and websites for projects including Redpoint, Scorpio Luxury, Venus Jewelry, Da Village, Nutrigent, Artack Type Design, Conditional Privacy, SparksGlo Horse Sugar Script Blind Box, SparksGlo Real Estate Agent WordPress Website Template, and other digital and experimental design systems.

My responsibilities include project coordination, budget allocation, client feedback integration, collaboration with developers, quality assurance, and usability evaluation. I also execute on-page SEO strategies, integrate websites with Google Analytics, implement backlinking strategies, and support performance optimisation through Google Ads to improve conversion and sales outcomes.

Prior to SparksGlo, at ZAM Network, I led design projects for global clients including Tencent, PUBG Mobile, LPL, Trovo, and Alchemy Stars. These projects focused on large-scale branding systems and campaign design for international gaming and entertainment brands.

What inspired me to pursue design as a career was straightforward: I wanted to find a way to execute my design ideas while balancing technical constraints and business needs without being limited by equipment or environmental conditions.

Being recognised by the London Design Awards means a great deal to me. It represents recognition from an internationally respected organisation and makes me feel that both my work and creative vision are truly seen by the design community.

I am deeply grateful to see my works, including “SparksGlo Real Estate Agent WordPress Website Template,” “SparksGlo Horse Sugar Script Blind Box,” and “Conditional Privacy,” presented alongside outstanding projects created by talented designers and companies such as Baidu Online Network Technology.

This achievement has brought increased visibility to both me and my agency. More potential clients have reached out regarding website design and branding projects. It also serves as strong professional recognition of my capabilities as a Senior Graphic Designer.

In addition, we are planning to expand our business into e-magazines and e-books to explore broader creative fields and increase our overall impact.

Experimentation plays a significant role in my creative process. For example, responsiveness is vital in website design, which requires every element to adapt to different shapes and sizes across various screen resolutions.

While working on the SparksGlo Real Estate Agent WordPress Website Template, I spent a considerable amount of time redesigning elements during the implementation stage. After development was completed, I carefully tested the live website and discovered that some elements did not function properly across devices.

For instance, on the mobile version of the single property page, images displayed in their original aspect ratio occupied nearly the full screen, which negatively affected readability and user experience. I redesigned and optimised these elements, then collaborated closely with the development team to ensure the issue was fully resolved and would not impact usability for mobile users.

For the SparksGlo Horse Sugar Script Blind Box project, I drew inspiration from the shape of horse hooves. I visited zoos and horse farms to closely observe their structure and form, which eventually inspired the final shape and visual direction of the blind box design.

I wish more people understood that research is one of the most time-consuming yet essential parts of the design process. For example, in the SparksGlo Horse Sugar Script Blind Box project, selecting the most appropriate script style and visual representation for the concept of “horse” required extensive experimentation and refinement. This research stage became the foundation of the entire design process.

I always aim to find a balance between meeting client expectations and staying true to my creative ideas. First, I carefully listen to clients to understand their goals and expectations. Then, I develop concepts that align with their vision while incorporating my own creative direction.

Afterward, I gather feedback, refine the selected design continuously, and test the final outcome until it satisfies both the client’s expectations and the needs of end users.

I faced many challenges while working on my award-winning projects. For the SparksGlo Real Estate Agent WordPress Website Template, one major challenge was developing a design solution that functioned effectively across all possible screen sizes and devices.

For SparksGlo Horse Sugar Script Blind Box and Conditional Privacy, I struggled with arranging visual elements and finding the most effective angles for rendering the 3D imagery. I overcame these challenges through repeated testing, redesigning, and refining until the final visual results achieved both clarity and strong visual impact.

I am a Certified Judge for the Orpetron Web Design Awards and was recently invited to serve as a judge for the 2026 Global Undergraduate Awards. When I encounter a creative block, I often shift into the role of a juror to observe and evaluate other creative works. This allows me to gain inspiration from different design techniques, visual directions, and creative approaches.

I strongly believe that listening to others and practising empathy are essential in both everyday life and the development of successful products. These values are infused into all of my award-winning projects recognised by the 2026 London Design Awards.

Testing is an extremely important part of the design process. As designers, we cannot assume that our designs will always function perfectly under ideal conditions. In reality, designs perform differently across various environments, devices, and user situations. Continuous testing and refinement are essential to creating effective and reliable design solutions.

I would highly recommend collaborating with Viktoria Shao. Her work demonstrates clarity and strong visual hierarchy. I especially appreciate her systematic approach, disciplined use of form, and strong understanding of design aesthetics combined with front-end development skills.

Thank you for giving me this wonderful opportunity to showcase my projects. One question I wish people would ask is whether I have any upcoming artworks or projects planned for the future.

My answer would be yes. In addition to my already launched award-winning projects, including SparksGlo Horse Sugar Script Blind Box, SparksGlo Real Estate Agent WordPress Website Template, Venus Jewelry E-commerce Website Design, SparksGlo Artack Regular Type Design, and Conditional Privacy, I am currently preparing several new design initiatives.

One upcoming project is SparksGlo Magazine Design, which will explore my perspectives on AI-related issues while showcasing and compiling exceptional artworks from talented international designers worldwide. The first publication, “YOSN Art Series, Vol. 1: AI, Data, Illusion,” is planned for release in Q3 2026.

Another upcoming project is SparksGlo Rebranding & Marketing Design, which aims to refresh and modernise SparksGlo’s visual identity.
