Greetings, I'm Jackie Alpers, a seasoned food photographer and the author behind The Unofficial Yellowstone Cookbook and Taste of Tucson. My foray into the world of food photography began during my tenure as a publicist at a health resort, where my passion for capturing delectable dishes and culinary experiences was ignited.
I pursued my photography education at the Columbus College of Art & Design, situated in the vibrant city of Columbus, Ohio. This academic journey provided me with a solid foundation and a wealth of creative insights to further develop my skills and passion for photography.
My first shot was of my little brother crouching in the driveway sucking his thumb, our family station wagon was parked in the garage behind him. I took it with a Mickey Mouse 110 camera at the grocery store that came loaded with black and white film. I was 7 or 8 years old at the time.
I use a Canon 5Ds and prime lenses including the 100 and 50 macros.
My aspiration is to maintain a trajectory of consistent accomplishment and establish a career that not only thrives in the present but also stands the test of time, marked by sustainability and enduring success.
I'm touched by every compliment that comes my way!
Dynamic, colourful and fun!
Thank you! It's a huge honour and I'm thrilled! I'm so excited to share the Unofficial Yellowstone cookbook with the world in October 2023!
I wrote and photographed The Unofficial Yellowstone Cookbook which was inspired by visually striking, dramatic and conceptually captivating hit television series Yellowstone, an updated American Western that takes place in Montana and Texas. The photographs illustrate my recipes in the cookbook which were inspired by the region as well as the series storyline.
