Zhang Jian

As Art & Design Director of Warmth Design Studio, Zhang Jian explores on contemporary and regional designs that allows him to specialize in small and medium-sized architecture and interior design.

I majored in architecture, and after graduation, I worked in design institutes and decoration companies. Warmth Design Studio was set up in year 2014, where we first started to explore more on the combined designs of regionalism and contemporaneity, and performed a number of practices by the sea, the mountains and in the urban area.

We mainly specialized in small and medium-sized architecture and interior design.

It is definitely a great honor to win. It is both a kind of motivation and opportunities for the people especially like us, working in the ordinary inland cities.

Hidden House is a house built by the mountains. The focus of the design is combines perfectly with the natural scenery, which also reflects the traditional Chinese views of nature.

The contradiction of the northern China's cold weather and the requirement of openness in the architecture.

It brings more business opportunities and makes more living space for the non-mainstream designers in the fierce market competition.

Communication with different people, meditation, and travel.

Given the thousands of years' worth of history and the cultural background of multi-ethnic integration, China has the unique advantages in the field of shapes and appearances.

Internet-related ideas and designs would be the mainstream.
