Thank you. I am truly grateful to be selected as a finalist.

I am an amateur photographer in my twenties who finds joy in capturing everyday moments from different perspectives and documenting my unique view of the world.

My photography journey began as a pursuit of happiness. As someone who feels emotions deeply, it has not always been easy. Over time, by recognizing the love and support around me, I have gradually overcome the intense self-criticism I once had about my work.

Solitude has always been one of my closest companions. I enjoy spending time alone—even in theme parks. Those moments create the mental space that fuels my creativity and opens up endless possibilities in my photography.

I am honored that my work was recognized by this award. It serves as meaningful validation and encourages me to continue growing on my photography journey.

The first thing I consider is the overall vibe and direction of the competition. Some awards celebrate abstract or fine-art elements, while others favor strong, straightforward expressiveness — which is something I particularly appreciate about the MUSE Photography Awards.

As an introvert, I once had a friend take a series of beautiful photographs of me. She showed me how photography can bring happiness and a sense of magic into everyday life. That experience inspired me to pick up a camera and begin my own photographic journey.

As long as an image feels visually intentional and its atmosphere genuinely reflects the story the photographer wants to tell, I can appreciate any style of photography.

I enjoy working with manual focus and custom white balance, even if I cannot always explain why they feel right to me.

For aperture, I typically prefer f/2.8 to f/4. This range provides a balance between overall clarity and subject emphasis, allowing the focal point to stand out while maintaining a natural sense of depth.

I want viewers to experience the many sides of everyday life through a photographic lens—chaotic yet peaceful, much like nature itself.

Looking back, I did not find the process of capturing this image particularly difficult. The enjoyment I felt in the moment seemed to overshadow any challenges, to the point where I barely noticed them.

My wonderfully overactive and endlessly imaginative mind.

My photography mentors have been my greatest influence, through their generosity, guidance, and invaluable advice.

Photo contests are a valuable opportunity to observe, learn, and elevate your work. They can help you identify areas for improvement, understand what makes certain images stand out, and discover new ways of seeing and creating.

If your goal is to grow as a photographer, I recommend focusing on the categories you are most passionate about and dedicating yourself to mastering them while participating in relevant competitions. I have learned a great deal by carefully studying the work of past finalists and winners.

Photograph anything and everything, wherever you are—as long as it is legal—and never overlook subjects that may seem ordinary or insignificant at first glance.

Editing and post-processing serve as a creative enhancement for me. They allow me to more effectively convey the stories, emotions, and details I want to share with my audience.

Technology certainly helps us create more technically impressive images.

That said, I believe it is essential to truly understand the language of photography rather than rely on tools to interpret it for you. AI can be a valuable assistant, but it can never fully replace the soul, perspective, and personal vision behind authentic photography.

Definitely Ilia Malinin—a figure skater who brings extraordinary passion, unmatched athleticism, and distinctive artistry to the ice. His performances continue to inspire me through their combination of technical excellence and creative expression.
