2022 People Photography Influencing London Photography Awards

People, the most usual yet unique being on the planet.

Although humans are fairly easy to capture in photos, to make an image that focuses on people is more complicated than it seems. Even so, photographers are constantly picking up with the changes and continuously creating imageries that never cease to amaze the audience. Hence, have a look at the 2022 people photography who emerged as a title holder in the London Photography Awards.

Street of Light (4) | Douglas Vernimmen

Douglas managed to take a shot that expresses the mood of a crowd during Christmas in Edinburgh. He took the opportunity to present a light show – The Street of Light that was performing on the Royal Mile, which is often referred to as the most iconic street of Edinburgh. The image was a photo of the dense crowd after the event ended, with a wide variety of facial expressions depicting individuals as a whole.

Mutant | Christa Funk

In the photo showing Anthony Walsh, the surfer at Pipeline, he took off on the mighty waves and that was the first ride she saw that made the reef work. From Christas’ perspective, the surf started out deceptively normal-looking, and Anthony almost lost his balance at the bottom. However, he managed to recover his stance just in time as the wave hit the shallowest part of the reef, and morphed into this cool image.

Morning on Saderghat | Etienne Bossot

A sunrise holds many meanings, especially in different areas around the globe. In Bangladesh, Etienne managed to capture the warm sunrise from the angle of the busy waterways in Dhaka. With the amount of boats and cruises present in the image, the photographer illustrates a breathtaking image of the country and its people.

DICTATORSHIP. PROPAGANDA. VICTIMS | Svetlana

The photographer of this series, Svetlana wanted to bring out the meaning behind the quote of Albert Speer, where it speaks about the dictatorship of Hitler. The images show what successful propaganda looks like and how it deprives others from independent thinking. Freedom is a controversial issue around the world, showcasing the difference of people in different areas.
