Interview with Yu-Shan Liu from Dreamer Interior Design. Co., LTD

Motivated by my parents who are professional interior designers with over three decades of experience specializing in residential interior design, I decided to follow in their footsteps and join them in their professional endeavors.

Specializing in both residential and commercial space design, our company distinguishes itself through meticulous attention to detail. We pride ourselves on delivering unparalleled creativity, rigorous design, and exceptional services to our clients.

Design is the art of crafting something that goes beyond mere functionality, extending into the realm of aesthetic delight. A successful design achieves a harmonious balance between form and function, fundamentally transforming the daily lives of individuals.

A quality design enhances the human experience, leaving a positive impact on lives. It is characterized by the seamless blend of aesthetic appeal and functional efficiency, fulfilling its intended purpose for the client. In my view, the true measure of a successful design lies not only in accolades but in the effective resolution of the client's challenges or needs.

Following a thorough site visit, our design journey commenced with the collection of inspirational images and the formulation of zonal plans. Collaborating closely with our clients, we finalized a floor plan, which served as the foundation for crafting a 3D model using tools like Sketchup or 3ds Max for rendering.

With client approval of the visual concepts, our focus shifted to the meticulous creation of detailed technical drawings essential for the construction phase.

While there may be variations, I believe the design process in interior design generally follows a standard framework across different projects no matter the country.

Receiving recognition not only acknowledges the effort put into my work and that of my team but also instills confidence in our clients regarding our capabilities. It serves as validation that our dedication has yielded results, and it serves as a valuable avenue for promoting our business beyond word-of-mouth referrals from friends.

I haven't come across many contemporary or modern residential interior design projects that extensively incorporate both decorative and practical uses of wood. I believe it's worthwhile to showcase this distinctive project to the public.

Creating a space that seamlessly integrates wood elements while maintaining a modern and uncluttered style is quite challenging. We had to exercise caution to avoid it resembling a Japanese restaurant.

Winning the award not only unlocks doors to new opportunities for partnerships and collaborations but also enables both myself and the company to broaden our network. Furthermore, the recognition from winning the award boosts my confidence in the quality of my design work.

My parents have been not only a source of unwavering support but also invaluable mentors in my life's journey.
