Hi, I'm Jan Bais, a seasoned designer with over 8 years of experience in the UI/UX Design industry. I'm currently the UI/UX Designer for Digital Renegades, committing to enhancing brands by blending top-notch functionality with elegant aesthetics.
Growing up made me realize that I was more into the design world. I participated in a lot of art contests during my younger years. I finished my Major in Computer Science and had become interested in programming back then but as time went by I drifted more into the aesthetic side of things and decided to focus more on UI/UX design. While designing I love to play around with the user experience and develop a system that would help our clients and users.
As a UI/UX designer with Digital Renegades, my mission is to satisfy our clients' needs by creating intuitive, engaging, and aesthetically pleasing user interfaces that enhance their product's reputation and user satisfaction. At Digital Renegades, we specialize in offering cutting-edge digital solutions to help businesses thrive in a competitive landscape.
Our team is composed of skilled professionals who are passionate about innovation and excellence. My role involves collaborating with clients to understand their vision, conducting user research, designing wireframes and prototypes, and ensuring a seamless user experience from concept to final product.
Looking at a piece, whether it may be a poster, a glass, a car, or a bottle I always see how it was designed perfectly and that does its purpose and is cool at the same time.
I usually start familiarizing what is needed by the client/user and put myself in their shoes. This allows me to foresee and imagine each element of design to start with and define how and why each element will be laid out on the artboard.
After doing wireframes, working on high-fidelity design is what I love doing. It gives shine to the designs that I do and I become more excited as I am working on that project.
My style is more on the minimalistic side. I really love white space in design. The more minimal, the cooler it is for me. I am also in love with basic and clean typography. This is one of the main reasons we clicked with the Digital Renegades team, we are in line with elegant and bespoke designs and solutions.
Yes, it is well known that Filipinos are hardworking people and it is one of the biggest factors in being a good designer. If you put a good amount of effort into a project and enjoy it, for sure you will get the best quality product.
Winning the 2024 MUSE Creative Award is an incredible honor for both myself and the entire Digital Renegades team. This prestigious recognition highlights our commitment to excellence and innovation in the field of UI/UX design. For Digital Renegades, this award is a testament to our dedication to delivering top-tier digital solutions and underscores the hard work and creativity of our talented team, motivating us to keep delivering outstanding results for our clients and solidifying our position as leaders in the industry.
I would say the consistency since each section of the website contains different content.
Winning this award inspired me to continue striving for excellence in my work. This recognition has not only validated my skills but also motivated me to keep growing and innovating in my practice.
Unlimited creative freedom, continuous development, and never-ending possibilities and challenges.
Filipino art is known for its unique blend of indigenous, Western, and Southeast Asian cultural influences.
With advancements in technology, the creative industry is poised for a revolutionary transformation over the next 5-10 years. Emerging technologies like augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence (AI) will redefine how we approach design and user experiences. We'll see the introduction of new materials and resources that we can't yet imagine, enabling more innovative and sustainable solutions.
Be proud of your work and believe that you deserve to be at the top, but hustle for it. Become an optimist within you and everything you do, so things will be meaningful to you.
Online community will definitely help you as a designer. People there share ideas and tools to show their support to one another. Watch tutorials on youtube and give some online courses a try. Also, be open to feedback, if you have the chance to work with talented people, get the best from them, dont take things personal, rather take the feedback to become a better version.
My key to success is to always plan, prioritize your goals and learn from your mistakes.
