Lighting the Heart of a Space in Interior Design with Min Jun Liao

Min Jun Liao

Min Jun Liao is an interior designer focused on shaping residential and commercial environments with thoughtful light, warm materials, and steady spatial rhythm. Her approach brings structure and emotion into a balanced conversation, creating spaces that feel grounded and sincere.

Honestly, it’s because I truly love this project and wanted to give it a try—to see if it could be seen by more people. Every submission is both a learning experience and a personal challenge for me.

Cream Serenity conveys “a sense of stillness within soft light.” It’s about slowing life down and creating a gentle sense of calm. This recognition reinforces my belief that simplicity and sincerity can move people.

Every time I complete a project and see the homeowner’s satisfaction, that sense of accomplishment keeps me going. It reminds me that I’m truly on the path I love.

Listening, functionality, aesthetics, and warmth are at the heart of what we do. Every space begins with listening, finds balance between practicality and beauty, and ends with a feeling of comfort.

Every project has its challenges—budget, schedule, or detailing—but these experiences teach me to communicate and adapt better, bringing the final result closer to my original vision.

I begin by understanding the homeowner’s lifestyle—their habits and rhythm. For me, design is an expression that begins after truly “listening.”

Soft, still and genuine.

The most touching feedback comes from clients who write heartfelt thank-you messages or refer their friends to me. That kind of trust means more than any award.

This recognition is both encouragement and affirmation. It reminds us that when we create with sincerity, our work will naturally be seen.

It gives me more confidence and inspires me to explore different styles and narratives. I hope every future project carries a touch of warmth that resonates with my design inspirations.

I hope to one day design a space that truly coexists with nature—where people can feel the movement of light, wind, and the changing seasons. That would be my purest vision of design.

I believe the next decade will focus more on emotional connections between people and space. Technology will advance, but what truly moves us will always be warmth and authenticity.

Sustainability isn’t just about energy or materials—it’s about creating spaces that can be loved for a long time. When people cherish and live within them, that’s the truest form of sustainability.

I’d love to design a home that changes with the seasons—breathing in spring, airy in summer, luminous in autumn, and warm in winter. That would be my ideal way of living.
