Interview with Lin Chin Hsien of Yuanji Interior Design

Lin Chin Hsien

Lin Chin Hsien, a skilled designer, blends ink design and display art into a range of projects, from graphic design to spatial planning. She adheres to the philosophy that "life is art," creating visually stunning and refreshing experiences for clients in interior decoration.

My name is Lin Chin Hsien and I am a skilled designer who seamlessly incorporates ink design and display art into my projects, ranging from graphic commercial design to three-dimensional spatial planning. I stay true to interior decoration while implementing the philosophy of "life is art", resulting in a visually stunning and refreshing spatial experience for my clients.

Since childhood, I've taken pleasure in Chinese ink painting, finding joy in the act of creating something from the ground up. Taking on the designer path was something I found to be natural to me.

I have been actively involved in the commercial space industry for over a decade since establishing my business in 1997. What sets me apart from others is my ability to create a unique and personalized space theme based on the owner's vision and requirements.

This is achieved through thorough negotiations with each owner, followed by detailed design and planning in line with the chosen theme.

Design is the art of enhancing the way we live - it is the art of improving our lifestyles.

I have a profound admiration for China's rich cultural heritage and have a preference for the contemporary and minimalist Chinese aesthetic.

What constitutes as a good design to me, must fit the user's cultural story and usage needs.

I have the capability to design a customized storytelling environment in a variety of styles, encompassing modern Chinese, Japanese, French, and European aesthetics.

I was overjoyed when the news reached me that I have won an award! Winning awards not only brings recognition and honor to our company but it also drives and nurture continuous improvement.

The customer for this interior design project is a prominent manufacturer of precision instruments, catering to clients in European and American markets.

The biggest challenge I had to tackle was the need to create a unique and noticeable company image while also ensuring a quick construction process.

I believe that any business that has won prestigious awards will earn the trust of its customers and it will also allow me to expand into the high-tech precision industry chain.

In my country, diversity is a source of beauty, as it allows people and their unique creations to inspire happiness.

In the age of AI's dominance in graphic design, artists must focus on crafting individualized work rooted in the humanities.

I would strongly encourage for students to participate in international design awards like the MUSE Design Awards as this would provide exposure for both themselves and their designs.

I'm deeply honored to have won this award, especially considering it's my very first time entering an international design competition.

The surrounding nature inspires me because the beauty of nature's ecology is unparalleled, especially when the sky reveals its full magnificence.

No matter what happens, I'm committed to giving it my all and working on myself.
