Cloud Banquet Transforms Eastern Inspiration Into Modern Design

Cloud Banquet by Cheng Peng is a contemporary banquet space inspired by the poetic beauty of Eastern nature and traditional Chinese aesthetics, translating imagery of moonlight, drifting clouds, and tranquil water into an elegant and immersive interior environment.

Cloud serves as the central concept, shaping the venue through flowing architectural forms, layered ceilings, and a rhythmic interplay of light and shadow. A luminous full-moon installation creates the focal point, complemented by circular lighting elements and cloud-inspired ceiling features that evoke the tranquility of drifting clouds and still water. The design creates an immersive setting where celebrations unfold within an atmosphere of elegance and calm.

A carefully developed color palette further defines the space. Moon White, Cloud Ivory, and Mist Gray create a serene foundation, while Champagne Gold introduces warmth and refined luxury. Ink Blue adds depth and draws inspiration from the expressive tones found in traditional Chinese landscape paintings.

The material palette brings together stone, wood, metal, ceramic, and glass to create tactile contrasts and layered textures. Light interacts with these materials to produce soft reflections and visual depth, recalling moonlight shimmering across tranquil water.

Through the integration of color, light, material, and form, Cloud Banquet presents a contemporary interpretation of Eastern lifestyle and spiritual aesthetics. The project creates a refined social environment that connects cultural inspiration with modern hospitality design.
