Hilton Quzhou Reimagines Contemporary Hospitality

Hilton Quzhou by Interscape Design Associates brings Quzhou’s cultural heritage into contemporary hospitality through a design journey inspired by ritual, landscape, and local identity.

Guided by the concept of “Seeking Rites,” Hilton Quzhou integrates Hilton’s international hospitality standards with the Confucian heritage of Southern Confucian Temple and Quzhou’s civic spirit of “A City of Rites.” The design draws from the city’s landscapes and cultural traditions, creating an immersive experience where Eastern ritual aesthetics meet a refined modern vocabulary.

The spatial journey progresses from arrival and social areas to dining, banqueting, leisure, and private retreats. In the lobby, geometric forms, layered materials, and a monumental landscape screen create a serene introduction, while flowing lines reference the artistic traditions of Southern Confucian scholarship. The lobby lounge continues this narrative through contemporary interpretations of local motifs.

Dining spaces explore Quzhou’s culinary heritage through contemporary design, while banquet and meeting areas create an inviting atmosphere through textured surfaces and restrained detailing. The fitness area and pool introduce organic forms and shifting light inspired by the fluid qualities of water.

Guest rooms complete the experience with artwork, lighting, and carpet patterns inspired by Jianglang Mountain and the Qujiang River. Warm tones and tactile materials create a comfortable retreat connected to the surrounding landscape.

Through its cohesive cultural narrative and contemporary expression, Hilton Quzhou creates a hospitality environment rooted in place and identity. The project by Interscape Design Associates was recognized as a Noble winner in the Noble Excellence in Hospitality Design – Urban Hotel Design category.
