My name is Martina Mlcuchova, a freelance photographer and passionate cinemagraph creator from Slovakia. I focus on various fields of photography - mostly on events, festivals, lifestyle, arts, interior & exterior, urban & architecture, cityscapes, etc. I also love traveling, making photos of cinemagraphs of landscapes, and cityscapes. Cinemagraphs allow me to express another dimension, a different perspective, and a broader view which retains a “live spirit” in each work.
I'm a self-taught photographer. I started my photography journey with an analog, which I learned the basics from my father.
The most inspiring feedback comes from those who appreciate my work (photographers, artists, people who I capture), leading to collaborations and affirming that I'm on the right path. Of course, awards like these are also inspiring.
I draw inspiration from the essence of moments, working intuitively to capture the magic and mood inherent in them.
The 3Ms - Magic, Mood and Moments.
Thank you! Winning the MUSE Photography Awards has been an honor for me, as this award affirms my creativity and magic of photography.
My three entries (3 of 3 submitted!) won significant accolades: one platinum and two golds. They showcase my signature style of double exposure photography, captured in-camera without post-processing. This was an opportunity to see if my work could stand out in a global competition.
Hmm. Ask me about it next year!
There are a lot of inspirational photographers whom I admire. I'll mention some from Slovakia - e.g. Zdenko Hanout, Katarina Oresanska, and Dezo Hoffmann.
Just do it, do what you love, and keep taking photographs. Passion and practice are the keys to success.
Just do it, do what you love, and keep taking photographs. Pursue your photography journey with a passion and without expectations.
I don't have a patent or any definitive advice on how to be successful. But maybe, persistence and authenticity are the way. Doing what I love and staying true to myself has been pivotal in my journey.
