Ronaldo Franco De Assis’s Ode to LiLi

Ronaldo Franco De Assis presents a series of masterpieces that was inspired from Danish painter Lili Elbe’s life story as one of the first person to undergo sex reassignment surgery.

In a series of beguiling photographs, Ronaldo Franco de Assis of assistelierfotografie, a Swiss photographer, illustrated his inspired photographs from the true story turned movie adaptation of ‘The Danish Girl’. It tells the story of a Danish woman by the name of Lili Elbe (1882-1931) who was one of the first transgender people to undergo sex reassignment surgery.

Deeply moved by Lili’s legacy, Ronaldo paid his respects to the famed Danish painter. Ronaldo expresses that his photos are to exhibit the beauty that exists in the transgender universe and the great contrast between both female and male sexuality including gender.

“Lili is an important part of history of this universe. We should be proud of her and her life needs to be told with empathy and dignity”, said Ronaldo. A half nude man dons on a satin pink dress and sports a short blonde bob with a beautiful purple necklace to match the dress. Another image depicts a man sporting a white collared shirt with a tie and on top was the very same satin pink dress.
