I grew up in Tainan, Taiwan's oldest city, and I studied interior design at Pratt Institute, New York. The New York years were really a Renaissance for me, I received a spirit from mother New York with a cultural fusion and a strong desire for exotic exploration. That contributes a great deal to my design DNA.

I believe that's a calling. I knew I would be a creator since I was a kid.

Rich Honour is a giant in the interior design industry in Taiwan. Our multi-disciplinary team delivers inspiration to hospitality, healthy industry, retail, workspaces, public venues and even branding around the world. Our service network, based in Greater China, now covers major markets in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. It is my 9th year with RH. It is a great honor to me to work with the greatest team, warm and supportive.

Design is a bridge that links reality and creativity. The greatest fun is being a bridge builder.

I tend to be drawn by a design with a great story. With a story, design is not only a matter of form and function but narrative imaginings with numerous episodes.

A good design is with aesthetics, well performed, and makes people happy.

I find it difficult to define a style for my design because I am very fickle. But I like to play low profile and to create conflicts subtly.

Roaming, thinking, finding, testing, and Eureka!

Definitely! There’s a saying that the most beautiful scenery in Taiwan is people. Waves of immigration have resulted in a population that’s surprisingly diverse. The convergence and interplay of currents of humanity in Taiwan have helped transform it into an open-hearted, forward-looking society. That makes us with great hearts incorporate diverse elements of civilization from around the world in a distinctive and harmonious manner, so that is my manner of design.

We are honored to receive this award and we believe that the Muse Platinum Award is a renowned recognition of our team efforts.

The Taoyuan Shin Kong Cinemas project is a crossover teamwork. We started with a travel video to share a traveler’s vision with a group of movie industry people. In a story with many sceneries, we kick off the project. It is like a journey, we travel with our clients, and somehow, in the end, we found the brand character is reborn and we create a new spatial-visual identity.

Budget.

Winning the award is like a marathon, passing the ribbon and getting a trophy. The award is a token of our inner achievement. We like cheerios ! It just keeps us running.

What are your top three (3) favorite things about our industry?

Communication is the greatest part. Through communication, we learn from the unknown and reacknowledge our knowing. It is a growing process.

The second is the meet the challenge and conquer it.

The last is very personal, it is to immerse in the flow of creation.

We have the ability to embrace diversity. The tolerant manner is expanding our boundaries in the various design field.

Originality is important. Through social media, the public can obtain information quickly and easily. We need to tell stories in an original way so that we can achieve results of unique value.

Do it. No challenges, no success!

To read is the best way to improve our imagination.

Be Honest is the key. “The place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being.”_ Matthew 6:21
