Tracey Jewel Constable

As the founder of Self Made Spectrum and Bright Side MamasClub, Tracey Jewel Constable is building inclusive communities where lived experience drives advocacy, mental health awareness, and lasting support for neurodivergent families.

I’m the founder of several purpose-driven initiatives, including Inclusive Mamas Club, which supports mothers and caregivers of neurodivergent children. I also lead projects focused on disability inclusion, mental health, well-being, and youth empowerment.

Much of my work is driven by lived experience, particularly as the mother of a child with complex disabilities and neurodivergence. That experience inspired me to create businesses and community platforms that not only provide support but also foster visibility, connection, advocacy, and lasting impact.

Across my organizations, I focus on transforming lived experience into meaningful action through community programs, awareness campaigns, partnerships, events, products, and social enterprise models. My goal has always been to build initiatives that are both emotionally meaningful and commercially sustainable while helping communities feel seen, valued, and supported.

Thank you for this thoughtful question. I decided to submit my entry to this award program because I wanted to highlight the importance of compassionate leadership, innovation, and meaningful impact in the mental health field.

Throughout my career, I've been committed to helping individuals and families overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve personal growth. I saw this recognition as an opportunity to share the vision behind Therapeutic Alliance & Testing Center and our mission to create a supportive environment where people feel heard, valued, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.

What gave me confidence in our submission was our unwavering commitment to excellence, our focus on building authentic relationships with those we serve, and our dedication to creating lasting, positive change in individuals and communities. We strive to lead with empathy, integrity, and purpose while continually expanding access to high-quality mental health care.

I believed our story stood out because it is rooted in service, driven by impact, and guided by a genuine passion for helping others thrive. This recognition reflects not only our professional achievements but also the values and mission that inspire our work every day.

I decided to submit my entry because I believe leadership and innovation can emerge from lived experience, not just traditional business pathways.

Much of my work has centered on creating practical, sustainable solutions that support communities while challenging conventional ideas of impact, inclusion, and leadership. I saw this award as an opportunity to share that perspective and demonstrate how purpose-driven initiatives can create meaningful, lasting change.

One of the biggest turning points in my journey was becoming a mother to a child with complex disabilities and neurodivergence. That experience reshaped both my life and my purpose.

It gave me firsthand insight into the challenges many families face, from navigating disability systems and mental health to overcoming isolation and gaps in community support. Those experiences inspired me to create initiatives that provide practical support, foster connection, and advocate for lasting change.

Much of what I've built has been created while navigating the realities of caregiving, disability advocacy, mental health challenges, and the emotional demands that often come with lived experience.

Building purpose-driven organizations also comes with the challenge of balancing impact, sustainability, visibility, funding, and community expectations. Those experiences have strengthened my resilience, reinforced my purpose, and shaped the way I lead with empathy, authenticity, and long-term vision.

I see this recognition as an opportunity not only to grow the initiatives I'm building, but also to amplify important conversations around lived experience, inclusion, social enterprise, and purpose-driven leadership.

Recognition like this creates greater visibility and credibility, opening doors to new partnerships, collaborations, speaking opportunities, and broader awareness for the communities and causes I advocate for. My hope is to use that platform to drive meaningful change and encourage more inclusive conversations across sectors.

I think one of the greatest benefits of participating in award programs like this is the opportunity to reflect. When you're deeply immersed in purpose-driven work, your focus is often on solving problems, supporting communities, and continuing to move forward.

The awards process encourages you to step back, recognize the impact you've made, and appreciate the growth and progress achieved along the way. That perspective can be just as valuable as the recognition itself, offering renewed motivation and a clearer sense of purpose for what comes next.

While I'm incredibly grateful to receive this recognition, the impact of my work has only been possible because of the support, passion, and dedication of the people around me.

I've had the privilege of working alongside dedicated volunteers, collaborators, community members, professionals, and supporters who share a genuine commitment to creating positive change. Their encouragement, generosity, and belief in our shared mission have been instrumental in turning ideas into meaningful action.

I believe we're seeing a major shift toward more human-centered, values-driven, and community-led business models. People are increasingly seeking authenticity, transparency, and meaningful social impact rather than purely transactional brands.

We're also seeing greater recognition of the value of lived experience in leadership, service design, mental health, disability inclusion, and social innovation. I believe these perspectives will continue to shape more inclusive, responsive, and purpose-driven organizations in the years ahead.

For anyone starting out in this field, my advice is to stay authentic and remain closely connected to the community you hope to serve. Listen with intention, stay adaptable, and don't be afraid to challenge conventional approaches.

Some of the most meaningful and innovative ideas come from people who have lived the experiences they're working to improve. Trust your perspective, lead with purpose, and never underestimate the impact your voice can have.

It's important to share the story behind your work, not just your achievements. Judges review many submissions, so communicating your purpose, lived experience, innovation, and genuine passion can help your entry stand out in a meaningful way.

Whenever possible, include measurable outcomes, examples of impact, community reach, partnerships, or real stories that demonstrate the difference your work is making. A compelling submission combines authentic storytelling with tangible results, allowing both your purpose and your impact to shine through.

I'm continuing to expand initiatives that support neurodivergent families, caregivers, mental health, and disability inclusion through community programs, workshops, social enterprise, and advocacy.

I'm also passionate about elevating lived experience as a recognized form of leadership, expertise, and innovation across both business and social impact. My goal is to keep building initiatives that create meaningful opportunities for connection, inclusion, and lasting community change.

I think one of the most important lessons I've learned is that meaningful impact often begins with people who care deeply about a problem and choose to take action, even before they have all the answers, resources, or recognition.

Some of the most transformative ideas come from lived experience and personal challenges. When people understand a need firsthand, they're often best positioned to create solutions that foster inclusion, strengthen communities, and drive lasting change.
